What better way to start a glorious weekend?
Planting trees and plants on the Sandringham foreshore.
You may have seen us? 35 chirpy volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Sandringham and Hampton, planting 60 trees and 200 native plants.
Why? Because, in the words of Rotary International President Ian Riseley, we are “Making a Difference”.
Ian, whose home Rotary club is Sandringham, set a goal of planting 1.2 million trees world-wide this year, one tree per Rotarian, which has long since been surpassed.
A truly global project enjoyed locally by all who took part this weekend.
